Driving Microscopy Microscopy Towards Scientific Advances in Materials, Biology, and Biomedicine
who we arePortuguese Society of Microscopy
The Portuguese Microscopy Society (SPMicros) succeeded, through statutory changes, the Portuguese Electron Microscopy Society (SPME), founded in 1966. It is a non-profit scientific society that currently encompasses the sections of Life Sciences and Materials Science.
Its objective is to support the implementation and development of all types of microscopy and their scientific or technological applications. Given its multidisciplinary nature, SPMicros encompasses a broad scientific community that uses microscopy to develop research in the areas of materials science, biology, and biomedicine.
